Sana Amin Sheikh was born in Ahmedabad, India. At the age of 7, she went to Pakistan with her family to study Islam. She joined the All India Radio Service as a radio announcer and later worked in the Indian Army. At the age of 18, she got herself a scholarship and enrolled for radio courses in New Delhi. She joined a few renowned radio stations and began to work as a DJ at Kolkata’s Star FM.
After a few more years, she switched to City Radio and worked there for a few years. She was a popular radio jockey there. She was also in the films for a little while. She is also known for her performance in Indian movies like Jeet Kune Do, Million Dollar Girl and Kamal Amrohi’s Baahubali. She also played a lead role in the award winning film called Dhaan.

Sana Amin Sheikh’s first book was published in 1965. It was entitled Mother, Lover, Friend: A Memorable Memoir by Sana Amin Sheikh. It was a very successful autobiography and was later made into a movie. It was later made into a sequel titled As I Live In Mumbai. In the third installment of the Biography, Amin was also awarded the Prema Mojo for Best Supporting Actress.

She also contributed articles on her experiences working with famous personalities and discussed various issues related to being a real woman as well as a working woman. Recently, Sana Amin Sheikh has been in the news for dressing casually and interacting with the celebrities and media personalities. In fact, she was recently spotted along with her famous ex-boyfriend Adeel Chowdhry and their children during a shopping trip in New York.
