Sherry Jackson is a name that may not ring a bell for most people. However, if you have ever seen any of the top action and adventure films of the last two decades, then chances are you will have heard of this incredibly talented actress. Sherry Jackson is an award-winning actress who achieved stardom in her career. She spent a large amount of time as an actress on TV shows such as CHEERS and ON THE WAY HOME. She also had notable roles in movies such as THE SELMA IN NYC and ERROLIC INADVUE.
Sherry Jackson was a main face on American television and Hollywood films during the early 1950s. Her acting career did come to a halt sometime later in the 1980s, but she still remains one of her best accomplishments to date. Over the years, she has shared screen time with some of today’s most prominent and famous actors and actresses of our time. Some of these include Angelina Jolie, Ben Kingsley, and George Clooney. Her extensive acting credits also included appearing in several documentaries and even a feature film.

In January of 2004, Sherry Jackson committed suicide by hanging herself at a hotel in Los Angeles. According to the press reports, her family moved to Idaho in January of 1942. Her father was an alcoholic and abusive of Sherry. When her mother left, Sherry’s brother was also abused by her father.
It was reported in February of 2004, that Sherry Jackson had been receiving death threats from her former family. Apparently, her family had moved to Idaho in 1942 and never made it to Los Angeles. Her first screen appearance was in the war thriller “Man on the Moon” where she appeared as a supporting character in the last scene.
Other than “Man on the Moon”, Sherry Jackson also had small roles in some films including “My Fair Lady”, “Elysium”, and “The Bodyguard”. She is currently reprising her role as the headstrong daughter in “Elysium”. As for her acting abilities, her resume lists her as an experienced television show actress. Other credits include “The Perfect Score” and “Heroes”.
Sherry Jackson passed away on fifteen February 2004 at her home in Encinitas, California. She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Lisa and Joanna; and two stepons. Her funeral service was held in San Diego. Her casket was opened by the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Spiro, Senior Director of Human Rights for the United States Department of State, and her ashes were scattered in San Diego’s Pacific Ocean.
