In this biographical book, written by Bapu Mariamman, Snigdha Akolkar describes her glorious life from childhood to her death.
Snigdha Akolkar was one very famous and accomplished lady, whose life has been written in this biography. She was born to King Jehangir of the Beni kings. When she was young, she was trained by her father in arms, fencing, singing, playing the flute and other such things. She was so talented that even after she was married, she was able to perform a dance called “Achar” or a trance dance, which is one of her most popular performances. She was also a skilled tailor’s woman.

In this book, Bapu Mariamman writes in first person, thus adding a human touch to the story. This is one of the few books where the size of the girl’s clothing is given in detail, just as it would have been in the past. One can understand that the author may feel she is giving a true depiction of life in the court of Jafar in the time of the 15th century.
Snigdha Akolkar was not only a courtier but was also a skilled cook and was known for her fabulous cooking skills. This is one of the things that people remember about Jafar. After her marriage to the queen of diamonds, she travelled to the court of her uncle, who was the king of England. The king was impressed with her beauty and intelligence, so he decided to marry Snigdha Akolkar.
It is interesting to note that Snigdha Akolkar was given a bra size of a size that was a lot bigger than what is generally worn at that time. Though it may seem odd, it is interesting to note that Snigdha Akolkar was able to fit into a strapless gown without any difficulty, something that a lot of women were not able to do during that time. Another interesting part of this story is that the king of England was not interested in marrying a woman before he had her Bra size, but only after she had it done. This shows just how good she was at dressing, as well as how beautiful she was.
Overall, this is a wonderful book to read. It tells the story of a young woman from a royal family who managed to outsmart and outwit the men who tried to arrest her. The author does a great job of giving you the whole picture of the life of Snigdha Akolkar, who was born in the 14th century. She is also well detailed and provides a lot of history and background. If you are planning to get this book, I would recommend that you order it through Amazon as it seems to be a difficult one to find. But if you can’t find it, then just read the book online.
