The story also reveals that during this period of tension between Chatterjee and his wife, Prabhas left for India. However, according to Srabanti Chatterjee’s novel, he was arrested by the police on the charge of murder and later convicted and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. It was rumoured that this would end Srabanti Chatterjee’s film career as well.
However, this did not end the career of the actor. In the next four movies, beginning with the hit comedy ‘Iruvar’ followed by the hit comedy ‘Chak De! India’ starring Akshay Kumar, Srabanti Chatterjee was again in the limelight, playing different characters and this time in the role of the villainous gangster. Besides this role in ‘Iruvar’, he also appeared in the films ‘Dabang Pyaar Kyu Kiya’, ‘Bada Dabang’, ‘Chak De! India and finally in the best comedy ‘Iruvar’.
