According to Swara Bhaskar biographer showing Swara Bhaskar age family and studies, her maternal grandfather on one side and her first-born brother on the other side both studied medicine with the renowned doctor Hema Swadhyaya at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was studying economics along with her family. Later in her early twenties, while she was going through a course at Indira Gandhi National College, Lucknow, she met and fell in love with Indian director Shimit Amin and moved in with him, which was rumored to be arranged by some of her film star friends from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
